Bath School of Acting provides a unique training ground for students who wish to progress to Higher Education in the Performing Arts, especially the countries top drama schools , or those who simply want to develop their talents further.
Bath School of Acting offers bespoke courses in Musical Theatre or Acting both of which are designed around a central core syllabus which aims to equip students to confidently take the next step in their chosen career path.
Students will be expected to be punctual and prepared for every lesson. In order to to meet syllabus standards, students will also be expected to spend their free time researching and investigating the performing arts world and industry.
Fees for 2020 entry: £2,400 per annum
After a place has been accepted, a £200 non-refundable deposit to secure your place is payable. The remaining fee is payable at the start of the academic year. Depending on your funding arrangements, a monthly instalment agreement may be available.
A kit list and reading list will be provided prior to the start of the academic year.
Scholarship awards are available for individuals who show outstanding potential and talent during auditions.
Located in the cultural city of Bath, Bath School of Acting is conveniently located in Widcombe's St Mark's Community Centre. This is very near to Bath Spa train station and the bus station for fast and efficient travel. Bath boasts a vibrant performing arts culture with numerous theatres, festivals and activities. It is a designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Full of life all year round and all times of day, it is a performing arts student's dream!
Training during the day on Wednesdays and Fridays for a full day and a half gives students a high level of contact time with trained professionals and enables students the time to continually solidify material they have studied. The daytime hours allow students to study whilst retain employment and allows them to take part in the numerous community theatre groups that run during the evenings in and around Bath.
BSA is lucky to have links with a number of top UK drama schools and is therefore able to offer firsthand advice regarding open days, auditions and course content. A weekly tutorial slot allows time to discuss career progression and find the right course for the individual.
Regular visits are made to drama schools to give a first hand experience.
We believe that taking part in workshops and masterclass sessions from industry professionals helps with individual development. Our patrons and visiting masterclass experts are all working in the profession, some are performers and many are the people who will be employing or training you in the future.
The BSA foundation course aims to give the individual a varied and interesting timetable that will equip them with unique skills at the end of the course.
The school therefore offers compulsory Music Theory and Stage Combat on both courses. Musical Theatre students also benefit from a weekly tap class.
The Acting and Musical Theatre courses both culminate in a showcase to demonstrate the students abilities and developments.
