Tristan Carter, Head of Acting

Tristan trained in Musical Theatre at Guildford School of Acting, has a Theatre Studies Degree from Rose Bruford University and a Teaching Diploma from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Directing credits include Sweet Charity, Me & My Girl, A Slice of Saturday Night, Guys & Dolls, The Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast, Grease, the critically acclaimed productions of Company, Fame and Laura's Star, Alice in Wonderland (NODA nominated for Visual Excellence, 2012), Mikado (Rosebowl winner for Best Opera/Operetta 2013, NODA nominated for Best G&S, 2013), The Witches of Eastwick, Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Miserablés school edition (Rosebowl winner for Coup de Theatre 2015, NODA & Rosebowl nominated for Best Youth Musical 2015), West Side Story (Rosebowl nominated for Best Musical 2016), Hot Mikado (Rosebowl & NODA nominated for Best Youth Musical 2016) variety performances at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London and The London Palladium. Plays include Doctor Faustus (NODA nominated for Most Innovative Production, 2013), Macbeth, Salem and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

Performance credits include: Andy Lee in 42nd Street, Sweeney in Sweeney Todd, Adam Pontipee in Seven Brides, Le Fou in Beauty and the Beast, Tom Collins in Rent and Edna Turnblad in Hairspray, Sweaty Eddie in Sister Act. Tristan was an original cast member of the critically acclaimed productions of Decent Rogues with Music is Life Productions and Wants Needs Dreams for Finch Music and Freckles for Workin’ Process.  

Tristan has successfully trained students for entry to internationally renowned schools including, Guildford School of Acting, Mountview, Trinity Laban, London Drama Centre, East 15, Birmingham School of Acting, London Guildhall, Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Oxford School of Drama, Bath Spa University and American Musical Theatre Academy of New York.


Elizabeth Jones, Head of Vocal Studies

Elizabeth studied piano and voice at Bath Spa University, graduating in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Music. 

She has taught piano and singing in Bath since then, working with students of all ages, covering a wide variety of both modern and classical styles. Many of her pupils have progressed to study music in further education at both Bath Spa University and Oxford, as well as receiving scholarships with the Bath Abbey Choir.

As an experienced choral singer and conductor, Elizabeth has a high profile locally in various theatre schools, including Curtain Up and Stagecoach. She has a particular passion for opera and musical theatre, having taken key roles in many productions including The Magic Flute, Bastien and Bastienne, Into the Woods, The Threepenny Opera, Candide, Masked Ball plus many concert performances and oratorio works. She has also been musical director for many stage shows, highlights including Grease, Beauty and the Beast, Annie and The Little Shop of Horrors.

Having sung in choirs and ensembles since the age of 9, Elizabeth now runs her own youth choir in Bath, 'The Minuendos', which perform all over the area, often partnering the other choirs and musicians in order to raise money for the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Bath city centre, a cause particularly close to her heart. 

Elizabeth also teaches piano and voice in several local primary and secondary schools, bringing a wealth of knowledge about individual and group performing skills to the School. 


Sammy Farrell, Specialist Dance Teacher

Sammy began dancing at age 6 at the Dorothy Coleborn School of Dance here in Bath. She began training with The Royal Ballet every other weekend as a Senior Associate when she was 14, and at 16 moved to London to train full time at The English National Ballet School. After a year, she decided she wanted to train further in all styles of dance, not just ballet, and so she complete her professional training at London Studio Centre.

Sammy has had an exciting and varied career which has taken her all over the world. She has performed on cruise ships, in holiday resorts, festivals, casinos, and on tour. She has even appeared in pantomimes at Bath’s Theatre Royal and The Bristol Hippodrome.

Sammy has taught many different styles of dance to all ages and has choreographed 2 musicals for Bath Operatic and Dramatic Society, ‘Sweet Charity’ and ‘West Side Story’ for which she won a Rose Bowl award for Best Choreography.
Annette Wilsher, Specialist Dance Teacher

Annette has a BA (Hons) in Dance and Culture from the University of Surrey, Guildford and went on to complete her Dance Teacher Training with the University of Exeter. Alongside this she studied for her teaching qualifications in Modern Jazz, Freestyle, Cheerleading, Tap Dance, Pilates and Zumba. 

Annette has worked in Bath and surrounding areas teaching the young and the young at heart how to Dance for many years. Many of her students have gone on to Higher Education courses, Dance professionally or teach Dance themselves. 

Annette has choreographed a number of Musical Theatre shows and continues to dance for productions at the Theatre Royal Bath. 
Annie Duggan, Specialist Stage Combat Teacher

Annie attended The Bridge Theatre Training Company in London and graduated with a professional acting diploma.

It was there that she found her love of stage combat and after graduating continued her training later becoming an apprentice with Academy Performance Combat (APC). Annie has been a qualified stage combat teacher for three years.
Annie has taught at various schools, including Guildford School of Acting, The Bridge Theatre Training Company aongside choreographing fight routines for various productions.

Annie now lives in Bristol and is currently teaching at SGS College and running a fencing business 'Little Musketeers'.
